Genzyme Waterford

Established in 2001, Genzyme Waterford is situated on a 37-acre site in Waterford, Ireland’s oldest city. This multi-phased biopharmaceutical facility has seen capital investment of over €500 million and employs more than 550 personnel.

It is a state-of-the-art facility that continues to grow in serving patients across more than 70 countries. Additional products continue to be developed and introduced to the site with the current expansion set to bring the first Sanofi insulin products to the facility.

Since Sanofi’s acquisition of Genzyme in 2011, the Waterford site has become ever more closely aligned with the Sanofi network in Europe and this continues to present fresh growth and development opportunities for our team and for the site.

Making a difference in the lives of our patients is at the heart of all that we do. Our patients inspire us and we work continually to get a better insight to their needs and how we can best meet them. Many of our products address previously unmet medical needs, often for patients whose journey to an accurate diagnosis may have itself been exhausting given the rarity of their disease.

To us, this is not just a job – it’s a real opportunity to make a difference.
